Abhiyenthararu National Theatre Festival in city from tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: A five-day Abhiyenthararu National Theatre Festival has been organised at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises in city from Feb. 25 to Mar. 1.

Dr. H.C. Boralingaiah, Chairman, Karnataka Janapada Parishat and former Vice-Chancellor, Hampi Kannada University, will inaugurate the Festival at 6.30 pm tomorrow.

Shashidhar Bharighat, Member, Ranga Samaja, V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, Joint Director, Kannada & Culture Department and Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, Assistant Director, Kannada & Culture Department, will be the chief guests.

Schedule

Feb. 25 – 7 pm: Kannada play ‘Rama Krishna Shiva’ based on Lohia’s articles by Karavali Nirdiganta. Directed by  Ganesh Mandarthi.

Feb. 26 – 7 pm: Kannada Play ‘Shunashyepa’ by Oddolaga Rangaparyatana, Uttara Kannada. Written by Nisargapriya. Directed by Manjunath   L. Badiger.

Feb. 27 – 7 pm: Gibberish play ‘Y – what refuses to face’ by The Interlink Theatre, Kerala. Written by Ensemble. Directed by Remith Ramesh.

Feb. 28 – 5.45 pm: Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi recitals by M. Mallika from Kerala; 7 pm: Kannada play ‘Marana Mrudanga’ by Abhiyenthararu. Written and Directed by Rajendra Karanth.

Mar. 1 – 5.45 pm: Om Yoga Kendra, Bengaluru, will present ‘Shariff Ajjara Padagala Bhavya Badukina Tatvagala Vyakhyana’ by Guru Sri Madhusudhan Katte, 7th generation ‘Sahaja Yogi’ of Sri Shariff Ajja Parampara. Bhagyashree will sing; 7 pm: English play ‘Yayati’ by Theatre Nisha, Chennai. Written by Girish Karnad. Directed by V. Balakrishnan.
