The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), in an early morning operation, conducted simultaneous raids at the houses of PWD Executive Engineer Kalegowda, who works in Mandya, at the residences in Mysuru, Mandya and Maragodanahalli this morning.
The team led by ACB SP B.T. Kavitha during its raid at one of the houses located in Ravishankar Layout on Dr. Rajkumar Road in city is said to have recovered several documents including saving certificates and FD documents worth Rs. 2 crore, currency notes of Rs. 2,000 and old currency notes of Rs. 500 denominations to the tune of Rs. 3.5 lakh, 1/2kg gold, 1.5 kg silver, property papers of sites in Mysuru, Mandya and Bengaluru, among others.
Other teams also conducted similar raids on houses belonging to Kalegowda at V.V. Nagar in Mandya and Maragodanahalli. Dy.SP Gajendraprasad and staff Anil, Prashanth, Madhu and others assisted in the raids.
The full details on the raids will be available this evening. The raids were conducted following several complaints against Kalegowda with regard to him owing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
