Mysuru: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped a Gram Panchayat (GP) Accountant while he was accepting bribe at the Taluk Office at Nazarbad here yesterday.
The trapped GP Accountant, who is now arrested, has been identified as Nagesh Kumar, attached to Siddalingapura GP.
It is learnt that Nagesh had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 55,000 from one Lingaraju for land conversion and Lingaraju had given Rs. 15,000 as first instalment.
Lingaraju then lodged a complaint with the ACB against Nagesh and the ACB team, led by its SP Kala Krishnaswamy, laid a trap and caught Nagesh red-handed while accepting the bribe.
