Wife donates deceased husband’s organs
Srirangapatna: A man, who had sustained serious injuries in a road accident on Santhemala Main Road of Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS), succumbed to injuries at the hospital and the deceased man’s wife donated his organs thus displaying her humanitarian concern.
The deceased is Ravichandra (39), a resident of Hulikere village. His wife Ranjitha gave her consent to the doctors for donating her husband’s organs thus coming to the aid of those waiting for organ replacement.
Ravichandra, who was running a saloon in KRS village, closed his shop for the day on Friday night and was proceeding on his bike to his village when a dog suddenly came in front of his bike. Ravichandra, who fell from his bike sustained serious head injuries and was admitted to KR Hospital in Mysuru. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Bengaluru where he succumbed to injuries on Tuesday.
After Ravichandra’s wife Ranjitha gave her consent for organ donation, his kidneys, skin, heart and other organs were harvested.
Ravichandra leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends. The last rites were held at his native place Bannur. KRS Police have registered a case.
