“The society can see development only if harassment on women is stopped,” opined Sri Ilai Alwar Swamiji of Melukote.
He was speaking at a function organised by Chaitra Foundation at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar here on Sunday to mark its Foundation Day.
The Swamiji said that a person can attain happiness only if he or she develops religious conscience. Speaking on the occasion, H.R. Leelavathi, former Chairperson of Karnataka Sangeetha Nrutya Academy advised everybody to involve in reforming the society with a spiritual mind.
Achievers Shreyas N. Rao, G. Shashikumar, C.S. Radhika and Basavaraj Indoora were felicitated on the occasion.
Students of Thonachikoppal Government Higher Primary School performed a dance depicting the richness of art in India from North to South. Foundation Head V.V. Anand and others were present.
