Mysuru: Yesteryear actress B. Saroja Devi is on a brief visit to the city. The actress, who arrived here on Apr. 8, is staying at Hotel Southern Star. She was accompanied by her niece, grandnephew and Secretary Subba Rao.

She visited Chamundeshwari Temple, Nanjangud Temple and offered prayers yesterday and this morning she visited the Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple to offer prayers.

A former Committee Member of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Bengaluru, Saroja Devi called on BVB Bengaluru Chairman N. Ramanuja at his residence in Yadavagiri this afternoon and had luncheon meeting with the former HMT Chairman.

An educationist, Saroja Devi has instituted ‘Padma Bhushan Dr. B. Saroja Devi National award’ in association with BVB for talented people, including technicians, musicians, dancers, script writers and others, in Indian Cinema.

Saroja Devi left for Bengaluru with her family members later in the evening.
