Mysuru: ‘Silk India-2025,’ a spectacular 11-day silk exhibition, organised by Abhivruddi in celebration of the auspicious Varamahalakshmi Festival, at Nanjaraja Bahaddur Choultry on Vinobha Road in city from July 25, was formally inaugurated by film actress Rajalakshmi K. Murthy yesterday.
The expo, which will be open from 10.30 am to 8.30 pm will Aug. 4, showcases a wide array of authentic silk sarees, dress materials, designer fabrics and handloom products.
Speaking at the inauguration, actress Rajalakshmi K. Murthy expressed her admiration for the diversity of Indian silk traditions. “It is inspiring to see such a beautiful initiative that supports handloom weavers and promotes our rich textile heritage. Events like these remind us of the cultural identity that silk carries, especially during festivals like Varamahalakshmi,” she said.
T. Abhinand, organiser from Abhivruddi, stated, ‘Silk India-2025 is not just a shopping expo, but a celebration of craftsmanship and tradition. By directly connecting weavers with consumers, we ensure authenticity, fair pricing and appreciation for the artistry involved.”
In addition to silk sarees, the exhibition also includes bed covers, stoles, shawls, kurtis, boutique sarees and wedding collections, catering to every style and budget.
