Acute shortage of water in Bannimantap Extension

Sir,

This has reference to the news item mentioning that Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) will take severe action including attachment of property if property tax and water charges are not paid in 30 days (Star of Mysore dated Aug. 14).

MCC seems to have decided to toughen its stand against defaulters after decades of laxity and poor enforcement. At the same time the MCC has the following responsibility before taking strict action:

  1. Roads should be properly maintained and potholes should be filled regularly.
  2. Street lights should be maintained and the defunct ones changed immediately.
  3. Proper maintenance of drainages, especially in new Layouts like Devanur 3rd Stage behind NH Hospital.
  4. Ensure regular supply of water to every Wards especially Bannimantap ‘A’ Layout, opposite KSRTC Depot. The residents of this area have not been getting water since last six months in spite of giving complaints to all offices. Surprisingly till date no action has been taken!
  5. Last but not the least, corruption in the Corporation should be reduced to nil.

We request the authorities concerned to solve the above problems before taking strict action against the defaulters.
