Mysuru: Seeking fulfilment of their just demands and rights, adivasis (Tribals) will take out a ‘Belagavi Chalo.’ Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Chikkamagaluru-based Adivasi Dalit Bhoo Hakkina Andolana State President K.N. Vittal said that more than 500 adivasis from across the State, including over hundred from Mysuru district, will take part in Belagavi Chalo.
The demands include implementation of Forest Rights Amended Act, upgradation of Ashrama Schools into Navodaya Schools, dropping of fake adivasis from caste census and introduction of inner reservation for adivasis among others, he said.
Vittal also urged the government to drop false cases registered against the adivasis by the Government.
Tribal leaders Vijay Kumar, Ramanna, Shivaraj, Puttamma and other were present at the press meet.
