Ponnampet: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Coorg Institute of Technology (CIT), Ponnampet, conducted a three-day Hands-on workshop on “Advanced LabVIEW” for third semester students with the goal of bridging the knowledge gap between the academic curriculum and industrial practice recently.
A total of 49 students participated in this workshop. The resource person was V.R. Manjunatha, Embedded Software Specialist, C.S. Group, Montreal, Canada.
The workshop started off with an introduction to LabVIEW and some of its fundamental commands. The participants learned how to use different LabVIEW operations. Additionally, the Front Panel and Back Panel environments — the two main types of LabVIEW environments — were introduced.
The idea and utilisation of the preconfigured models available for immediate use in LabVIEW was also discussed.
Manjunatha gave an overview of how industrial challenges are solved using LabVIEW by referencing actual difficulties from real-world applications toward the end of the workshop. The session concluded by providing some helpful LabVIEW shortcuts and key points.
During the valedictory, C.P. Rakesh Poovaiah, Hon. Secretary, Kodava Education Society and Dr. M. Basavaraj, Principal of Coorg Institute of Technology, appreciated the resource person. HoD of ECE Dr. S.S. Divakara and staff were present.
