Mysuru: Higher Education Minister G.T. Devegowda (GTD) inaugurated the State-level Adventure Camp organised by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Mysuru and Mandya, at Youth Hostels premises in Saraswathipuram here yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that taking part in adventure sports will not only help enhance physical strength and mental stability but also helps in achieving the near impossible.
Underlining the importance of students taking part in adventure activities along with academics, the Minister advised the participants to teach to others what they had learnt in the week-long camp.
MLA S.A. Ramdas, who presided, said that such camps will give a new experience to the participants.
Bengaluru Nehru Yuva Kendra Director Sunil Mallik, Mandya Nehru Yuva Kendra Officer S. Siddaramappa, Mysuru Nehru Yuva Kendra Officer M.N. Nataraj and others were present on the occasion.
About 50 youths from across the State are taking part in the 7-day aqua, aero and terrestrial adventure training at various spots.
