Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing city advocate Jagadish of making baseless charges against IPS Officer Ravi D. Channannavar on social media posts, former Mysuru Mayor Purushotham has sought an apology from the advocate.
Addressing a press meet at Jaladarshini Guest House here on Wednesday, Purushotham said that Ravi had served as Mysuru SP about six years ago . Pointing out that Ravi, who came from a poor family, had worked hard to become an IPS Officer, Purushotham alleged that the advocate was making baseless charges that the IPS Officer had bought 78 acres of land in H.D. Kote taluk under a benami transaction. But this allegation is baseless as there are no supporting documents for the advocate to prove his claim, Purushotham said and sought an apology from advocate Jagadish.
He warned of legal action against the advocate if he does not stop making false and baseless charges against the IPS Officer.
Karnataka Rajya Nayakara Yuvasene President Devaraj Katur, who also addressed the press meet, said that farmer leaders Kumaraswamy and Umesh were misleading the advocate. Pointing out that the Yuvasene plans to lodge a complaint against the two farmer leaders at H.D.Kote, he warned of legal action if Jagadish continues with his baseless allegations.
Members of various Dalit organisations, Valmiki associations, advocates belonging to Dalit community and others were present.
