Advocate seeks recall of Dr. Saleem as acting DG&IGP

Bengaluru: Advocate Sudha Katwa has written to Chief Secretary of the Government to withdraw the order issued on May 21 appointing Dr. M.A. Saleem as the In-charge DG and IGP.

Advocate Katwa has cited Supreme Court (SC) order, according to which there is no provision to appoint DG and IGP on a temporary basis. While in the appointment of Saleem, the order has been issued without specific mention about the reasons and the tenure of appointment.

“It is a clear violation of the Constitution and the Law. Let the appointment be made in compliance with SC guidelines. If the strictures are not followed within seven days, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) will be filed,” warned Advocate Katwa.
