Advocates stage protest demanding protection for Bangladeshi Hindus

Mysuru: Maintaining  that Hindus in neighbouring Bangladesh were in peril, city Advocates, under the banner of Mysore Bar Association, staged a demonstration in front of Mahatma Gandhi bust, opposite the City Law Courts Complex, demanding protection to Bangladeshi Hindus.

Alleging that Hindus are being relentlessly attacked by goons  and arsonists in Bangladesh for the past few months, the protesters demanded intervention of the Centre to ensure safety and security of Hindus in Bangladesh.

Urging Bangladesh Govt. to take stringent action against the attackers and arsonists, they wanted the United Nations to take up the issue and ensure protection for Hindus, who have been staying in Bangladesh for decades and contributing significantly for that country’s growth.

Association President S. Lokesh, Vice-President M.V. Chandrashekar, Joint Secretary (Woman) B.V. Vinoda, senior members S. Anand Kumar, B. Shivanna, Pradeep, Shivaswamy, Jagadish, Basavaraju, Gangadhar Gowda, A.G. Thammaiah and others were present.
