Mysuru: The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of All India Anglo-Indian Association (AIAIA), Mysuru branch was held in city recently.
Hon. General Secretary of AIAIA and Governing Body Member Vinisha Nero was the chief guest.
A new team for the Executive Committee comprising Charles Lewis (President & Hon. Treasurer), Alistair Rodrigues and Joy Antony Dove (Vice Presidents), Crezvel Coates (Hon. Secretary), Michelle Rodrigues (Joint Secretary), Norbert Brown, Caroline Daly, Anthony Smith and Dr. Lester Nunes (Committee Members), was elected.
Budding female football player Serena Rodrigues was felicitated on the occasion for participating in the Under-17 KVS National Subroto Cup Football Tournament held at Dehradun and lifting the winner’s trophy.
Anglo-Indian Day: AIAIA also celebrated World Anglo-Indian Day on the same day. Bishop of Mysuru Rt. Rev. Dr. K. A. William was the guest of honour.
The Bishop commended the services of Anglo-Indian Community in the field of education, nursing, and the Armed Forces to name a few.
A short video documentary prepared by Stephanie Lewis featuring all the stalwarts of AIAIA Mysuru was screened on the occasion. Gerry Rodrigues spoke on the significance of the day.
Fr. Bernard Prakash, Dorothy Fernandez, Irene Dove, Denver D’Cruz and others were present.
