Mysore/Mysuru: As a precursor to Dakshin Bharat Utsav – 2024 scheduled to take place on June 15 and 16 in Bengaluru, a road show was conducted at a private hotel in Mysuru yesterday, covering Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts. The intention was to look forward to investments in the travel and tourism sectors.
Dakshin Bharat Utsav is an initiative led by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), in collaboration with the Department of Tourism. It is set to be hosted at the Princess Shrine, Gate No. 9, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, on June 15 and 16.
This event will showcase the tourism potential of Southern Indian States while emphasising investment opportunities and employment generation. The Utsav will highlight investment prospects and promote employment within tourism sector, aiming to exhibit tourism potential of Southern States globally.
The Mysuru road show aimed to highlight South India as a top-tier tourism destination while extending invitations to interested MSMEs to invest in tourism sector. Mysuru, situated in the southern part of Karnataka, is a vibrant fusion of history, culture and grandeur. Over 100 entrepreneurs and tourism stakeholders attended the road show.
Mysuru’s iconic Palace, bustling markets and lively Dasara festival make it an enchanting destination. The streets are filled with the fragrances of sandalwood and jasmine, adorned with traditional silk sarees, intricate handicrafts and aromatic spices. Drawing millions of tourists, the ten-day Dasara celebrates the victory of good over evil.

Balakrishna, Sr. Vice-President of FKCCI; Uma Reddy, Vice-President of FKCCI; B.V. Gopal Reddy, Immediate Past President; K. Shiva Shanmugam, Advisor and Chairman of the Tourism Committee; K.B. Lingaraju, President of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and S. Nanjunda Prasad, Vice-Chairman of FKCCI Tourism Committee.
The two-day Dakshin Bharat Utsav-2024 aims to highlight investment opportunities and foster employment generation within the tourism sector.
This vibrant event is meticulously designed to engage and empower stakeholders in the dynamic tourism industry.
Activities include the Tourism Investors Meet, an exhibition spotlighting the culture, cuisine and tourism offerings of the Southern States, conferences, and networking opportunities through B2B and B2G interactions.
This collaborative effort between FKCCI and Karnataka Department of Tourism underscores a shared commitment to leveraging tourism as a driver of economic prosperity and social advancement.
Through strategic partnerships and innovative initiatives, the Dakshin Bharat Utsav seeks to promote inclusive growth, create employment opportunities and position Southern India prominently on the global tourism map.
