Bengaluru: Responding to Karnataka’s plea, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has extended the last date till Jan. 15 for admitting students against vacancies for all engineering courses.
In a press release here, Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayana has said this has paved the way to conduct one more round of counselling. The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) would announce the date of counselling very soon. Opportunity would be given for the last time to surrender the seats for those students who have already secured seats for engineering courses but who do not wish to get admitted for the course. But, students who get the seat in the coming mop-up round would not be a given chance to surrender their seats. They would have to get enrolled by paying the stipulated fee or else they would have to pay a fine of five times the fee, he added.
