Mysore/Mysuru: As part of 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Mysuru District-level Yuvajanotsava event was organised jointly by the Office of the Zilla Panchayat, Mysuru, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES), Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) and National Service Scheme, University of Mysore at the Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad, Mysuru.
The NSS volunteers of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Manasagangothri, took part in various competitions under ‘Folk’ and ‘Classical’ categories and have bagged the first place in Group Folk Song Competition and in Solo Classical Dance (Odissi).
The group song team who secured I prize consisting of N. Aishwarya (2nd year Audiology), Alka George (3rd year BASLP), Thejashwini (3rd year BASLP), R. Mayuri Rao (3rd year BASLP), Prakruti N. Bhat (2nd year BASLP) and D. Hithyshree (2nd year BASLP) performed the all-time euphonious song “Sojugaada sooju mallige,” a song which describes a village woman showing her devotion toward s Lord Shiva. Also, Aradhana Raul (2nd year Audiology) got the first place.
