Hundreds of students from St. Joseph’s First Grade College at Jayalakshmipuram staged a flash protest this morning against the directive of the College Management to wear a particular type of shoes to go with the uniform. The students came on to the busy street in front of the College and blocked traffic for some time. They said that while they had no objection to the College rule of compulsory uniform, the Management could not force them to wear a particular type of shoes. Following the protest, Jayalakshmipuram Police rushed to the spot and convinced the students to return to the campus and sort out the shoe issue with the College Principal and Management.
