All India Inter-University Women’s Kho-Kho University of Mysore clinches maiden title

The University of Mysore (UoM) team which emerged winners at the All India Inter-University Women’s Kho-Kho Championships 2021-22 by defeating Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, in the final held at the UoM Gymnasium Indoor Hall in Mysuru on Thursday.

University of Mysore won their maiden title by beating Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, in the final by 3 points (10-7), in the All India Inter-University Women’s Kho-Kho Championships 2021-22, conducted by University of Mysore at the University Gymnasium Indoor Hall here on Thursday.

Excellent play by K.R. Tejaswini for University of Mysore who displayed excellent dodging skills and played for 8 minutes in the first innings and 2.30m in the second innings, paved the way for the University’s maiden triumph. B. Chaitra (5.20m and 1 point) and L. Monika (7 points) also played well. Neeta Devi (1.50m, 3.30m and one point) played well for the loser Lovely Professional University.

Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, secured the second place, while M.D. University, Rothak and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Aurangabad, secured the third place.

The prizes to the winners were given away by Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra, who was the chief guest for the valedictory function.

First-aid and on-field injury management was provided by Sports Physiotherapists from JSS College of Physiotherapy (JSSCPT), Mysuru, led by Vijay Samuel, Head, Department of Sports Sciences.

JSSCPT has been associated with UoM to provide sports rehabilitation as collaborative activities.

University of Mysore: 10 (K.R. Tejaswini – 8m, 2.30m, B. Chaitra – 4.30m, 1 point, L. Monika – 7 points) bt Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab: 7 (Neeta Devi – 1.50m, 3.30m, Ramandeep Kaur – 1.30m, 1.30m) by 3 points  (ht: 6-3).

 MDU Rohtak: 13 (Bindu – 3m, 5m, 5.40m) bt Veer Narmad SG University: 12 (Chaudhry Priyanka – 2.30m, 3.50m); Full time 9-9 – Draw. Extra innings.  (ht: 5-4).
