Mandya: A 30-year-old man, who was married three months ago, allegedly committed suicide citing harassment from his wife in a seven page death note. He committed suicide by hanging self in the outskirts of Aladahalli village in Malavalli taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Manohar.
According to the death note, Manohar was in love with a woman from Bengaluru but the woman gets married to another person and later divorced him. She then calls Manohar to Bengaluru and both stayed together for two years.
In the meantime, the woman pressurizes Manohar to get married to her for which Manohar tell her that they would get married after seeking consent from both the families. Depressed over this, the woman lodges a complaint against Manohar and his family members with the Police.
Following the complaint, a relative of Manohar approaches the Police and got their marriage registered in February. But Manohar, citing a lot of responsibilities at his native place, sought permission from the Police to go to his native place for a few days and would lead the family life upon his return and leaves for his native place.
As it took time for Manohar to return to Bengaluru, his wife calls him over the phone to harass him besides threatening to lodge another complaint against his family members, Manohar has stated in the death note besides stating that he was committing suicide due to fear of harassment on his family members.
In the death note, Manohar has also stated that no one was responsible for his death besides asking to donate his body to MMC&RI and implant his heart to his mother-in-law, who is suffering from heart ailment.
He has also asked his family members not to conduct any religious ceremonies (death ceremony) but use that money for the development of the village besides asking them to give his bike to a particular person. He has also asked for forgiveness from his parents, sisters and friends for not keeping his words.
Kirugaval Police, who have registered a case in regard, are investigating.
