‘Allocate funds for Kalamandira renovation’

Mysore/Mysuru: Former Corporator and Anikethana Seva Trust President K.V. Mallesh has urged the State Government to reserve funds for renovation of Kalamandira in city.

In a press release, he said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has contributed for the development of Mysuru by announcing crores of funds in every budget.

“Similarly, emphasis must be given for development of Kalamandira constructed during the tenure of R. Gundu Rao as the Chief Minister,” he said.

Mallesh stated that the chairs, lights, sound system and balcony in Kalamandira needed immediate attention and added that the walls of the building had been damaged due to seepage.

He urged the CM to announce funds for the installation of legendary violinist Pitilu Chowdiah’s statue at Kalamandira junction and also initiate measures to unveil the statue of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji near JSS Mahavidyapeetha.

Stating that Mysuru City Corporation had already named the Circle after the Swamiji, Mallesh has requested both CM Siddaramaiah and District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa to unveil the Seer’s statue at the earliest.
