Ambari carrying elephant to appear during Makkala Dasara

Mysuru: The children of Mahouts and Kavadis of Dasara elephants are practising to present ‘Dasara Ambari’ on elephant during ‘Makkala Dasara’ dancing to the popular song ‘Ane bantondane.’

Two kids in combination with an elephant mask, one of them carrying an idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari on his back will together symbolise the Ambari carrying elephant, the song and dance will last for five minutes.

The song is edited by teacher Basavaraj and sung by another teacher Nagendra. The dance and costumes are conceptualised by teacher Subbalakshmi and others. 

The entire programme would be monitored by Block Resource Co-ordinator Nagesh.

Tent School Nodal Officer Kusuma speaking to press persons said that 33 children were studying at the Tent School and added that along with regular studies, the kids are engaged in cultural activities.

She contended that every year the said kids are exhibiting their hidden talents during Dasara programme. She further said that 12 to 15 kids would participate in Makkala Dasara presenting a total of three dances.
