Bengaluru: A 45-year-old man was chased by unidentified persons who later stabbed him to death inside a moving BMTC bus heading from Anekal to Majestic in Bengaluru yesterday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Seetaram alias Suresh, from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. He was stabbed in the stomach, chest and shoulder by three men inside the bus.
Police said that the man had boarded a bus heading to Konappana Agrahara and on reaching Agrahara, he got down and had only walked a few steps when the three unidentified persons armed with knives rushed towards him. Seetaram ran for his life and boarded a moving BMTC bus so also his assailants, who repeatedly stabbed him to death as others watched, the Police added. A profusely bleeding Seetaram was shifted in an ambulance to a private hospital on Old Airport Road where doctors declared him brought dead.
The Police said that the bus tickets found on Seetaram showed that he had reached Hoskote from Kadapa at around 6am and added that one of the assailants appeared to be an elderly person in his 60s, while the other two appeared to be in their 30s and might have followed Seetaram from Kadapa.
When the driver stopped the vehicle, the three unidentified persons jumped out of the bus, a Police officer added.
