Mysuru: Sri Kavery Kodava Association, Mysore East, celebrated a day-long Annual Get-together on Nov.24 at Kodagu Model School premises in Vidyashankar Layout, Sathagalli.
Mukkatira T. Nanaiah, Leading High Court Advocate and President of Kodava Samaja, Bengaluru, was the chief guest. Kekada M. Belliappa, President of Kodava Samaja, Mysuru, was the special invitee.
Vani Nanaiah, wife of M.T. Nanaiah and a Social Activist, addressed the gathering and spoke about the responsibilities of Kodava community in maintaining and improving the traditions and culture of Kodava community.
Kaliyatanda B. Ganapathy, Senior member of the Association, spoke about the improvement of Kodagu Model School. He was extremely happy that the admission has increased and the School has reached the Higher Secondary-level.
Annual Scholarships were disbursed to deserving meritorious children of the members of the Association.
Kodava Ummathat and another Kodava dance on Goddess Cauvery, was performed by lady members of the Association. Sports events were held in the afternoon session.
Senior members of Sri Kavery Kodava Association, Madrira Tiny Biddappa and Chovanda K. Madappa were felicitated for their support, hard work and distinguished service to the Association.
