The Annual Sports Meet of Vidyavardhaka Degree College was held at University of Mysore Athletic Grounds (Oval Grounds) here recently. Anaesthetist and Ultra Marathon Runner Dr. Chintana M. Patkar inaugurated the Sports Meet by receiving the Sports Torch.
Delivering her inaugural address, Dr. Chintana urged the students to take part in sporting activities at least for an hour daily to develop a strong and healthy body. “Both education and sports are important for the overall personality development of a student,” she added.
Vidyavardhaka Sangha Secretary P. Vishwanath also spoke on the occasion.
Prof. Kumada welcomed. Prof. Manju rendered Naada Geethe. Sangha Treasurer Shrishaila Ramannavar, College Principal Dr. Marigowda, Post Graduate Division Head Dr. Poornima, teaching and non-teaching staff were present.
