In continued cases of debt-ridden farmers ending their lives in Chief Minister Siddharamaiah’s home district, a debt-ridden farmer this morning committed suicide by consuming poison at his lands in Beeranahalli village in H.D. Tauk.
The farmer, who took the extreme step after failing to repay a loan of Rs.3 lakh, has been identified as Mahadeva (45), a resident of Beeranahalli. H.D. Kote Police, who rushed to the spot on information, conducted an inquest before registering a case.
