Anti-drug awareness campaign by Youth Congress: Tanveer Sait Cup Cricket Tournament begins in city

Mysuru: To create awareness on the ill-effects of drugs and as part of anti-drug campaign, the Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress (KPYC) and Mysuru District Youth Congress, under the leadership of KPYC State Secretary Abrar Mohammed has organised a 10-day Tanveer Sait Cup leather ball cricket tournament.

The tournament was inaugurated by KPCC Working President and MLA Tanveer Sait at Eidgah Maidan in Rajivnagar here recently. Over 20 teams from across the State are taking part in the tournament.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Tanveer Sait said, “The anti-drug awareness campaign organised by the Youth Congress was an excellent programme. To build an ‘Addiction-Free India’, it is essential to create awareness among the youths. Sports events like this are effective platforms for such messages. Every participant in this competition should spread the message against drug abuse.”

Tanveer Sait also appreciated the Youth Congress for organising the tournament as part of awareness campaign.

City Congress President R. Murthy, MLA K. Harishgowda, former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, former Corporator K.C. Showkath Pasha, Jnanaprakash Swamiji, Azeez Sait Block Congress President Syed Iqbal, Congress leaders Shahenshah, Afroz Khan, Deepak Shivanna, Hemanth Kumar and others were present.
