Mysuru: The State-wide APMC bandh called by the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), to protest against e-payment, was total in city with traders shutting down shops at the APMC yard in Bandipalya on Nanjangud Road today.
The APMC, which was a bee hive of activity on all working days, today wore a totally deserted look.
The traders are up-in-arms against the e-payment system introduced under GST. Terming the new system as unscientific and cannot be implemented, the traders demanded immediate withdrawal of the new system according to which traders should remit payments directly to the bank account of farmers for produce purchased from them.
