Mysore/Mysuru: Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, celebrated Children’s Day on Nov. 14 by hosting a special event to focus on children’s right to health and create awareness on their education and welfare.
Welcoming children who have been part of the Apollo family as patients to a specially decorated area in the Hospital, the Paediatricians, nurses and staff participated with the kids in various fun-filled activities and games.
The newly renovated maternity ward ‘Janani’ was launched on the occasion. The ward is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is built in a contemporary style with modern design to take care of all maternity needs and postnatal care.
The event comprised games that informed the kids about their health. ‘Know Your Organs’ had the children play a variation of the famous Four Corners kid’s party game and answer questions about organs such as the Heart, Lungs, Bones, Muscles, Eyes, Nose and Brain.
The Paediatricians also gave the parents tips on ensuring a healthy child. To motivate the children to take care of their health and that of their family, they had a special sticker with ‘Future Healer’ written on it put on their clothes. The children voiced joy by writing creative messages on sticky notes pasted on a special board.
After the fun events, the children and their parents were treated to delicious healthy snacks and gift hampers.
N.G. Bharateesha Reddy, Vice-President and Unit Head, Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, said, ‘Our children represent our future. Our responsibility is to ensure that they are given all opportunities to bloom and grow into happy adults who can positively contribute to society. We are glad we could take care of these children and bring them back to health. The event is a small token of thanks to the parents and children who trust us. At Apollo, we believe that every child deserves the best healthcare in addition to the basic needs of food, shelter and education.’
