Madikeri:- Madikeri Assembly segment BJP candidate Mandepanda Appachu Ranjan filed his nomination for the seat yesterday.
Appachu Ranjan, a former Minister, accompanied by hundreds of supporters, performed special puja at the town’s famous Chowdeshwari Temple at 10.30 am, before marching in a grand procession to the District Administration office where he presented his nomination papers to Assistant Commissioner Ramesh Konareddy, who is also the Assistant Electoral Officer.
However, as only five persons are allowed inside while filing nominations, Appachu Ranjan was accompanied by MP Pratap Simha, Virajpet MLA K.G. Bopaiah, Kodagu District BJP President B.B. Bharateesh and Somwarpet Taluk Panchayat Vice-President Abhimanyu Kumar.
