Appeal for garbage clearance on Devaparthiva Road

Sir,

For over a month, garbage has been accumulating in front of an abandoned house on Devaparthiva Road (BJP Office Road), with no action taken by Mysuru City Corporation (MCC).

The waste is piled up in front of two long-abandoned and dilapidated houses, which have become havens for rats, and snakes, and a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Despite raising this issue in this column on March 10, 2024, the MCC authorities have not addressed the problem. This ongoing neglect is causing a significant nuisance to the neighbours living adjacent to these abandoned properties.

I have repeatedly complained to the MCC authorities about the garbage disposal and the need for mosquito repellent spraying on this road, but no action has been taken. With the recent rise in dengue fever cases in Mysuru, this negligence poses a serious health risk.

Therefore, I urgently appeal   to the MCC authorities to deploy Pourakarmikas to clear the garbage and also notify the owners of the two abandoned houses to clean their premises at the earliest.
