Mysore/Mysuru: The Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Government of Karnataka, is running a two-year D.Ed. Spl.Edu (HI) and D.Ed.Spl.Edu (VI) Special Education Course at Government Teachers Training Centre for Visually Impaired (VI) and Hearing Impaired (HI)Children at Tilaknagar in city.
Special Education D.Ed programmes are equalised with General D.Ed. Candidates who have completed II PUC or 10+2 for general category with 50% marks and SC, ST, Physically disabled persons with 45% marks are eligible.
Courses
1. D.Ed.Spl.Edu (HI): D.Ed Special Education – Hearing Handicapped (HH); 2. D.Ed.Spl.Edu (VI): D.Ed Special Education – Visual Handicapped (VH).
Job Opportunities: Course completed students can work as Special Teacher in Government-grant-in-aid Schools which runs under Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens; as Teacher/ Resource Teacher in Normal School also; as Special Teacher in CBSE Schools; as Resource Persons and Instructor in District Hospitals; as Resource Teacher in Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan.
