Applications invited from minorities to avail various loan facilities

The Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation (KMDC) has invited online applications from Muslims, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsis and Anglo-Indian communities for availing loans and subsidies under various schemes. Under Shramshakti scheme, loans ranging from Rs.25,000 to Rs. 50,000 are available for carrying out occupational trades with a 4 percent interest. The applicant’s annual income must not exceed Rs. 3.50 lakh.

Under self-employment scheme, the beneficiaries will get a subsidy of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh for farming and other similar activities. The annual income of the applicants from the rural area must not exceed Rs. 81,000 while for urban applicants it should not exceed Rs. 1,03,000. Subsidy for purchase of taxi, passenger vehicle or goods vehicle costing upto Rs. 7.5 lakh, the beneficiaries will get Rs. 75,000 to Rs.2.5 lakh. The annual income of the applicants must not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakh.

People in the age group of 18 to 55 years are eligible to apply. Those who have availed loans or benefits from these schemes in the past, will not be eligible for availing loans once again. Applications may be submitted online before July 15 and a copy of the filled-in application and supporting documents must be submitted to the nearby KMDC Office.
