Applications invited online from minorities to avail loans

The Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation  has invited  online applications from Muslims, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsis and Anglo-Indian communities for availing loans and subsidies under various schemes such as Shramshakti, Ganga Kalyana, Micro-credit and Micro loan schemes.

Under Shramshakti scheme, loans ranging from Rs.25,000 to Rs. 50,000 are available for carrying out occupational trades. Under Ganga Kalyana scheme, the Corporation will dig borewells (costing Rs.2 lakh) for free for Small and Micro farmers. Under Micro-credit scheme, members of self-help groups will get loans upto Rs.10,000.

Under self-employment sch-eme, the beneficiaries will get a subsidy of Rs.75,000 for purchase of taxi, passenger vehicle  or goods vehicle costing between Rs. 4 lakh & Rs. 7.5 lakh. Under Micro-loan scheme, women from BPL families, in the age group of 25 to 50 years, who are hard hit by COVID pandemic, will get a working capital of Rs.10,000 for carrying out business or activities.

People in the age group of 18 to 45-55 years are eligible to apply.Those who have availed loans or benefits from these schemes in the past, will not be eligible for availing loans once again.
