The stretch from Bogadi Main Road signal to the Amrita bus stop has become a nightmare for vehicle users, with accidents occurring at night due to collisions with the median. These accidents cause damage to vehicles, injuries to riders and lead to traffic blockages on main road.
The root cause of these issues lies in lack of common sense and commitment from officials. The medians are not systematically placed, yellow reflectors on roads are missing and there are no reflectors on long poles to indicate the presence of a median from a distance.
This problem is not limited to Bogadi Road; medians in many places in Mysuru are similarly hazardous to vehicle users. While Traffic Police Department is investing crores of rupees in AI (Artificial Intelligence) cameras, spending a few thousand rupees on scientific improvement and maintenance of median indicators, using HI (human intelligence), can save lives and resources.
