Mysore/Mysuru: The State Government has appointed Dr. Shantha Hosamani, who is serving as Medical Officer (Blood Bank) at Bengaluru’s K.C. General Hospital and Dr. H.S. Narendra, Professor of Orthopaedics at Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital, Bengaluru, as Members of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) for a period six years.
While Dr. Shantha Hosamani has been appointed under Officer category, Dr. Narendra has been appointed under Non-Officer category, according to an order issued by Dr. K. Anand, Deputy Secretary, Department of Personnel Administration and Administrative Reforms (DPAR).
The two seats had become vacant following the elevation of Shivashankarappa S. Sahukar, who was a member, as KPSC Chairman and retirement of S.H. Duggappa on May 31.
A first batch (1984) student of JSS Medical College, Mysuru, Dr. H.S. Narendra has about 24 years of teaching experience in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. He has served in various capacities before becoming Professor of Orthopaedics; presented papers and lectures in National and International seminars and did Fellowship in Trauma and Sports Medicine at Kantonsspital Baselland, Switzerland.
After completing MBBS from JSS Medical College in 1991 (Mysore University), he finished his Post-Graduation (M.S. Ortho) from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College, Bangalore University.
