Mysuru: Retired KAS Officer Dr. B.S. Krishna Prasad has been appointed as an Officer on Special Duty and Special Advisor to Meghalaya Governor C.H. Vijayashankar, who hails from Karnataka.
He had also served as a Member of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). While serving as a KAS Officer, Krishna Prasad was instrumental in the implementation of ‘Manaswini’ scheme, a scheme aimed at women empowerment. He was popularly called as ‘Tamboola Tahsildar’ for his honest service to the people. He was conferred with ‘Sarvottama Seva’ award by the Karnataka Government in 2005 in recognition of his exemplary service.
