Mysuru: The Aramane Ulisi Horata Samithi has urged the District Administration to install Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar’s statue at Gun House Circle in the city instead of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji’s statue.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan in city on Wednesday, Samithi President Nandish G. Urs said that the Samithi will take out a rally in city on Sept. 15 urging the installation of Wadiyar’s statue.
Demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Siddharamaiah for speaking lightly of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, he urged the State Government to withdraw cases relating to Palace issues that are in the Supreme Court.
Maintaining that the Samithi was not opposed to the statue of late Suttur Mutt Seer Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji, he said that statue of the Swamiji can be built elsewhere in the city and it was most appropriate to install the statues of the erstwhile Mysuru rulers around the Palace.
Samithi office-bearers H.L. Yamuna, Ashwath Narayan Raje Urs, T.K. Subramanya Raje Urs, K.S. Mahesh and others were present during the press meet.
