Mysore/Mysuru: Stray cattle at Nanjumalige, Agrahara, Chamundipuram and surrounding areas were fed with green grass under the joint aegis of Sri Ravi Shankar Guruji’s Art of Living Foundation and B.Y. Vijayendra Abhimani Balaga yesterday. Later, grass was also distributed to the Goshala of Bharati Yogadhama in Uthanahalli.
Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of BJP State Slum Morcha R. Raghu Kautilya said, “During this time of distress, people must not only look after their fellow human beings but also animals, especially cow which is an integral part of our society.”
“Every summer, the Government used to set up fodder banks wherever there was need.
This time, however, due to Corona lockdown, cattle heads are facing shortage of fodder. With this in mind, our organisations have launched programme to provide feed to these animals,” he added.
Pointing out that recently Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa had given a message to feed the stray animals by himself feeding a cat in front of his house, Raghu Kautilya said that inspired by that, they had taken up the work of feeding stay cattle.
Art of Living’s Apoorva Suresh, Ravi and Vikram Iyengar and Go Parivar’s Rakesh Bhat, Ajay Shastry, Srinivas Prasad, Chakrapani and Suchendra were present during the programme.
