Mysuru: Thieves allegedly broke into a shop dealing with scrap materials of brass and copper metals on C.V. Road in Bannimantap here and made away with Rs. 4.35 lakh worth articles. D. Manjunath, who runs Sri Beereshwara Enterprises dealing with scrap materials, had gone home after locking the shop on Dec. 26. Following day morning, he came to the shop only to discover theft with the rolling shutter of the shop broke open.
Copper scrap weighing 550 kg to 600 kg worth Rs. 3.6 lakh and gold chain weighing 15 grams and Rs. 15,000 cash kept in the cash box, totalling worth Rs. 4.35 lakh, have been stolen. Narasimharaja (NR) Police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
