Articulate Fest, Udgama-03 at Ganabharathi on Nov.17

Mysuru: The following artistes will perform at the Articulate Festival-44 and Udgama-03 (Annual festival of child prodigies), on Nov.17 at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Ganabharathi, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagara:

Articulate Festival: Sowmya G. Naidu

Sowmya got initiated into dance under Guru Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy, Mysuru. With nearly 26 years of intensive training in Dance and Basic Yoga, she is a full-fledged artiste and has won  many accolades, prizes, awards and scholarships by various organisations across the world. She has topped in the State Board in Junior, Senior and Vidwat Dance Examinations and is also crowned first in All India Music and Dance Festival, Hyderabad, in the year 1996, 97, 99 and 2003. She was selected by ICCR and IRCEN representing India in Cultural Exchange Programme and has performed in different parts of China and Thailand. Sowmya did her Rangapravesha in 1996. A graded artiste of  Doordarshan, she is a recipient of the Central Government Scholarship once for Dance and again for Nattuvanga. 

Many are the prestigious platforms she has showcased her art both in India and abroad. She has donned prime roles in her Guru’s Dance Productions and features. Sowmya is now based in Qatar, pursuing her passion to greater heights.

Udgama-03

Purujith Kadekar – Yakshagana artiste, son of Ravi Kiran Kadekar and Kshithija Kasaravalli, is studying in 7th grade at Auden Public School, Bengaluru.

After being initiated into yakshagana under Guru Krishnamurthy Tunga, he is furthering under Guru Srinidhi Holla at Yakshashree Kala Vrinda, Bengaluru. His energetic performances in prestigious platforms has been lauded and highly appreciated. He is also being trained in Kathak at Articulate Dance Studios, Bengaluru.

Nrithya, Bharatanatyam artiste, daughter of C. Karthik and V. Ananthalakshmi, is studying in the 8th grade at Venkat International Public School, Bengaluru, is the prized disciple of Guru Archana Punyesh, at Jatin Academy Of Dance, Bengaluru.

Nrithya has put in a decade of dance training and has completed her Junior grade Exam in Bharatanatyam conducted by KSEEB, in the year 2018 and did her Rangapravesha this July, 2019. She has to her credit of having given more than 100 shows and winning 2nd runner-up in the dance contest conducted by Mysuru’s Bharateeya Nritya Kala Parishadh.

Saina Kadni, Kathak artiste, daughter of Sudheendra Kadni and Preeti Kadni, is studying in the 9th grade at Brigade School.

She has been passionately training in Kathak at Articulate Dance Studios, Bengaluru, under Guru Mysore B. Nagaraj and Laxminarayan Jena. 

She has performed on several platforms and has won awards and accolades including school productions and competitions. 

She completed her Junior Diploma in Kathak, under Prayag Sangeet Samithy, Allahabadh, in First Class with Distinction and obtained Prarambhik level in first class under Akhila Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidhyalaya Mandal, Mumbai.

Saania Thakur, Odissi artiste, daughter of Yasomati Mishra, is studying in grade 5 at National Public School, Indiranagar, Bengaluru. She is the disciple of Guru and Mother Yasomati Mishra, who imparts in her the style of Keluchanran Mohapatra and Guru Ratikant Mohapatra. She had the privilege of showcasing her art in many different Dance Festivals.
