Mysuru: The popular summer camp for children in the age group of 7 to 14 years ‘Chinnara Mela’ organised by Rangayana at Kalamandira premises here will be held from Apr.13 to May 8.
Disclosing this at a press meet at Rangayana premises this morning, Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam and Joint Director Mallikarjuna Swamy said that this year’s event would have a theme ‘work-skill-duty’ focusing on hands-on experience on simple works like weaving, making brooms from coconut fronds, pottery and cooking not to exclude assembling and dismantling of objects like a bicycle.
The Mela will be inaugurated on Apr.13 at 4pm by renowned artiste Ramachandra Hadapad in a novel way by reciting the then Provincial anthem during the Maharajas with the participating children joining in chorus.
Presentation of short stories by children in series with acting will also be a special inclusion in the event, they added.
