Artistes Federation submits memorandum of demands

Mysore/Mysuru: The Karnataka Rajya Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Vrutthi Kalavidara Okkuta, a Federation of Professional Artistes, having office on 1st Main Road, 7th Cross, Gandhinagar, Mysuru, has presented a memorandum containing the charter of demands of artistes to the Chief Minister, District Minister, Kannada and Culture Minister and all others concerned.

The demands include increasing grants for Kannada and Culture Department-sponsored programmes, bringing down age of artistes to become eligible for pension to 50 years from the current 60 years, formation of an Authority for artistes to ensure direct delivery of facilities to SC/ST professional artistes, reservation of more programmes for local artistes during Dasara, recommencement of Udayaraga and Sandhyaraga cultural programmes that used to take place at Bengaluru’s Lalbagh and Cubbon Parks and also conduct of the same in Mysuru parks and a hike in the Department’s financial assistance to artistes, among others.
