Mysore/Mysuru: Giving vent to his feelings about the tragic death of Dasara jumbo Arjuna, who was killed recently in a fight with a rogue elephant in an operation to tame wild elephants at Sakleshpur forests, Anil Bhoga Shetty, a former CAVA student with assistance from artist-friends Bharath Yoga, B.R. Rajesh and Chetan, has come out with a 3D art work of Arjuna in front of Kote Sri Anjaneyaswamy Temple in city.
“Deceased elephant Arjuna is emotionally connected with the citizens of Mysuru and surrounding areas as he had carried majestically and with total ease, the Golden Howdah 8 times during the Vijayadashami procession and even after he was relieved from this duty, he used to participate in Dasara procession as Nishane elephant. I used to admire him and have seen him many times since I was involved in my work with the preparation of Dasara tableaux,” said artist Anil Bhoga Shetty.
The 15 feet art work, which was started on Thursday last, was completed by Friday noon. Citizens of Mysuru, animal lovers and tourists are paying their tribute to the most loved elephant by clicking selfies with the 3D art work of Arjuna.
