The students of ATME College of Engineering, as part of ATMEYA – 2K17, the annual cultural fest scheduled to be held on Apr. 27 and 28 with the theme ‘Amar Jawan’, took out a Royal Enfield bike rally ‘Ride to Respect’ on Apr. 15, to create awareness among the youth about the brave hearts protecting the country’s border and also to join armed forces.
L.Arun Kumar, Chairman, ATMECE, flagged off the event. About 50 bikers comprising students and participants promoted the theme “Amar Jawan” through placards showing concern towards the soldiers and rode through different parts of the city. The rally, which commenced from Maharaja College Grounds, passed through Fire Brigade, Kukkarahalli Lake, University campus, Vontikoppal Temple, Railway Station and ended at the starting point. Dr. L. Parthasarathy, Chairman, Cultural Committee, briefed about the theme while Coordinator Harshitha read the guidelines. A minute’s silence was observed as a tribute to the departed soldiers followed by singing of the National Anthem. Shivashankar, Secretary, ATME Trust, Dr. L Basavaraj, Principal and others were present.
