Proceeds of the show to provide hearing aids for free to needy children
Mysuru: Audiology India (Ai) has organised ‘Hasya Lahari,’ a humour show by Prof. M. Krishnegowda and troupe, at Kalamandira on July 22 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
It is a charity show and the entry tickets are priced at Rs. 150 and Rs. 250 each. The proceeds of the show will be used to provide hearing aids for free to needy children.
About Ai: It is a non-profit and Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with an aim to promote ear and hearing healthcare in India and to provide accessible hearing healthcare for people in need.
Dr. Vinay Manchaiah and Dr. Shrikant Chundu founded Ai in 2009 as a website providing information about hearing healthcare. However, it was registered as an NGO in Mysuru during January 2011 under the Indian Trust Act.
Trustees Dr. Rajalakshmi, Manchaiah, E. Jayaprakash and 50 volunteers, who are the alumni of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), are serving at Ai.
Ai has conducted residential hearing camps in rural areas and conduct training about ear and hearing healthcare for public and professionals. The organisation has conducted 1,500 hearing assessment and have distributed over 600 hearing aids.
