Mysore/Mysuru: Sadvidya High School located at Vijayanagar in city had organised an awareness programme on ‘Cyber Crime and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act’ at its premises recently.
The awareness programme was led by Head Mistress K. Mamatha and was supported by Vanajakshi, Investigating Officer of Women and Child Development Department and Prasanna Kumar, Head Constable, Vijayanagar Police Station.
Police officials narrated the real life incidents to the students to create awareness among the children about the ill-effects of smoking, consumption of narcotic drugs among others.
Students of class 8, 9 and 10 and staff members attended this event. Helpline numbers — 112, 1098, 1930, 1091 were shared with students to report on witnessing any such offences.
Later, Police officials had an interaction session with the staff members and enlightened them on handling behavioural problems of students.
