Awareness on osteoporosis created in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Marking Bone and Joint Day, the Mysore Orthopaedic Association created awareness on osteoporosis by conducting a walkathon in the city yesterday.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. K.V. Rajendra flagged off the walkathon at Maharaja’s College Grounds. The walkathon passed through Kukkarahalli Road, Saraswathipuram and other parts of the city.

The Association had organised a three-day camp from Aug. 4 to 6, during which 491 persons were trained on basic life saving skills, with the theme ‘Train One- Save One.’

Senior orthopaedicians of city Dr. J.S. Hegde, Dr. Nagabushan, Dr. Ravishankar, Dr. Nithyananda Rao, Dr. Ravindranath, Dr. Mrutyunjayappa, Dr. Raghunandan, Dr. Shreyas Alva, Dr. Ravindra, Dr.Malegowda, Dr. Paril, Dr. Ajay Hegde, Dr. Abdul Rawoff and a host of other doctors  and students and staff of MMMC&RI, JSS Medical College and staff of private hospitals took part.
