Mysuru/Mysore: To create awareness on the ill-effects of tobacco usage, the Interactors of Rotary Midtown Academy went on a Jatha and performed street plays at four villages of Kergalli, Badagolahundi, Ramanahundi and Nanjarajayyana hundi recently.
The school band performed march-past on the main streets of these villages and distributed handbills containing the harmful effects of tobacco. They invited villagers to the nearby junction, wherein the students performed the street plays. The students used local dialects to attract the crowds and pass on the message more efficiently.
The students also prepared charts and models to educate the villagers on the respiratory diseases caused by tobacco usage.
